Privacy Policy


The information provided by students, parents/caregivers and employers is obtained for the purpose of coordinating the mandatory workplace learning for a HSC VET course/school student. It will be used by the NSW Department of Education and Training to meet the duty of care and child protection responsibilities of the Department and to support the information needs of the student, employer, and the parent/caregiver. Provision of this information is voluntary. The information will be stored securely and kept until the student reaches the age of 21 years, or for three (3) years after the placement has been completed, whichever is the longer. This will take account of the statutory limitation of three (3) years for bringing actions for damages for personal injuries in NSW. Where an action related to the placement occurs after the placement, the information will be kept for a minimum of two (2) years after that action. The information could relate to accidents and include accident reports, claims for damages or assessment of damages. The information will only be disclosed for purposes directly related to the purpose for which it is collected. If you do not provide all or any of this information then the student may not be able to undertake the planned mandatory work placement/workplace learning.
